Credible означает 'заслуживающий доверия': credible witness, credible explanation. Прилагательное того же корня creditable имеет значение 'похвальный, делающий честь кому-л.': creditable act, creditable behaviour. Credulous эквивалентно русскому 'легковерный, доверчивый': credulous like a child. Существительными того же корня являются: credibility 'вероятность, правдоподобность' (от credible); credit 'похвала, честь' (с ним связано прилагательное creditable); credulity 'легковерность, доверчивость' (от credulous).
